Farmer to Farmer: Ensuring Choices in Technology for American Agriculture
Farmer to Farmer is a concept developed by the membership of the National Corn Growers Association (NCGA) to help farmers ensure they continue to have wide range of technology options. This site provides materials that will allow growers in areas that may have legislation pending to restrict access to agricultural technology to offer a strong rebuttal based on sound science to the information put out by biotech opponents.
Agricultural biotechnology has had the most rapid adoption rate of any technology in history. The reasons for this success include:
- Environmental benefits
- Economic Benefits
- Safety of the technology
Despite the advantages that agricultural biotech offers to growers, there is serious opposition to the technology (click here for example pdf). Ironically, this resistance is often orchestrated by well funded organizations that have tenuous ties to agriculture and use misinformation rather than fact to drive their agenda. The following pages provide growers information to not only make informed decisions about biotech, but also provides tools to take action to protect their choices in how to grow crops to feed the nation.
